Motorola's first wide foldable leaks: compact build, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, mid-December launch
Motorola is preparing its first wide-format foldable for a mid-December launch, and leaked CAD renders plus a spec sheet published by Android Headlines give the clearest picture yet of what to expect. The device — codenamed "Parker" and internally called the Razr Flex — drops into a Q4 foldable market already crowded by the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Apple's iPhone Duo, which went on sale October 23.
The design
Unfolded, the phone measures 149 × 110 × 5.8 mm and folds down to 110 × 76 × 12.6 mm — notably squarer than Samsung's Z Fold proportions. The inner display is 6.92 inches; the outer cover screen is a compact 4.97 inches. Both run at 165 Hz. Heavily rounded corners and a horizontal dual-camera bar sit centrally on the rear — that placement is a deliberate fix for the Galaxy Z Fold's table-wobble problem, where an off-center camera module causes the phone to rock when laid flat.

Weight lands at 215 g. That's heavier than the Galaxy Z Fold 8 (201 g) but noticeably lighter than the iPhone Duo (254 g). Folded thickness of 12.6 mm is the main trade-off for the compact footprint. Two PANTONE color options are listed: a warm beige called Coriander and a dark green called Dark Botanical Garden.

The specs
Under the hood, Android Headlines CAD renders align with a spec sheet citing Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, 12 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of storage. The 5,000 mAh battery supports 25 W wireless charging. Cameras are dual 50 MP — a main and an ultrawide. Connectivity covers Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, and the phone carries an IP49 water and dust resistance rating.
Android 17 ships out of the box.
Where it fits
Pricing hasn't been disclosed, but the spec positioning suggests Motorola is aiming below the Galaxy Z Fold 8 ($1,899.99) and the iPhone Duo ($1,999). The Apple's custom foldable Pencil is dead — iPhone Duo buyers wait months for stylus support — a gap Motorola could exploit in marketing a cleaner out-of-box experience. Motorola's recent flagship push, including the Motorola Signature 27 debuts with a 200MP Sony sensor and Bang & Olufsen audio, signals the brand is serious about competing at the premium tier.
