Oppo A7 Pro Max arrives globally with a 10,000mAh battery that can charge your other devices
If you're tired of carrying a power bank, the Oppo A7 Pro Max makes a direct pitch: a 10,000mAh battery in a phone slim enough to pocket, with 27W reverse charging so it can top up your earbuds or smartwatch too. Oppo launched the phone in China in August 2026 and is now rolling it out globally, starting with Austria, Malaysia, and Thailand. UK and US availability hasn't been confirmed yet.
The battery case
The 10,000mAh cell uses spherical silicon-carbon technology, which packs more energy into a smaller space than conventional lithium-ion, as Notebookcheck reports. Oppo claims the battery retains at least 80% of its original capacity after six years of use — though that figure comes from Oppo's own lab simulations, not independent testing. Wired charging tops out at 80W, which Oppo says fills the phone in around 90 minutes under ideal conditions.

The A7 Pro Max is also the world's first phone to ship with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chip, built on a 4nm process. It runs alongside LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The 6.78-inch AMOLED display hits 120Hz and peaks at 1,800 nits of brightness — solid numbers for a mid-range device. The phone runs ColorOS 16 on top of Android 16 and measures 163 × 78 × 8.6mm, weighing 224g. Cameras and durability
The rear camera system pairs a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and a 2MP monochrome helper. The front camera is also 50MP. Video is capped at 1080p/30fps on both. The camera island's circular design echoes the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4. A multi-colour breathing light indicator surrounds the module.
IP69K dust and water resistance — the highest rating on the IP scale — means the phone can handle high-pressure jets and dust. There's also an under-display optical fingerprint sensor and NFC.
Price and availability
Austria is the only confirmed Western market so far, where the 6GB/256GB model costs €599, per OPPO's Austrian site. Third-party estimates put a potential UK price around £349 — competitive against OnePlus and Motorola rivals in the £250–£400 bracket. A broader European rollout is expected after September 2026, but no UK or US retailer has been named. The phone comes in Surfing Blue and Lunar Black.
